The Balance magnetic thermal reactive (MTR)™ wrist support is excellent for relieving pain and swelling that is in the mid-range of the pain scale (see below).
It relieves symptoms of arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome, and can substantially speed healing of wrist strains and sprains. The adjustable tension band provides added compression to relieve strain and stabilize the wrist.
The magnetic wrist support contains six (6) large and very powerful 4,300 gauss magnets. The magnets are inserted at precise locations so the magnetic fields penetrate into deep tissue at the energy levels needed to effectively ease pain and swelling, and help your wrist heal faster. Color: Black.
MTR™ supports and braces are made of a patented, Thermal Reactive support material. The material is designed to dramatically improve the level of comfort of orthopedic supports, while maintaining optimal compression. This "Thermal Reactive" material works in harmony with the magnetic therapy by:
- Maintaining an optimum level of therapeutic body heat. This helps increase blood flow to the area, carrying oxygen and nutrients, and removing inflammatory toxins more rapidly in order to speed healing.
- Removing perspiration and excess heat under the support to prevent overheating. This allows you to comfortably wear the support longer, which increases the effectiveness of the magnetic therapy.

Anisotropic magnets have a much stronger and more stable magnetic field then common, Isotropic magnets.
This extra step makes all the difference
Magnetic material crystals, in powder form, are magnetized so they orient (face) the same direction. This maximizes their energy storing capacity.
The magnetized crystals are molded into solid blocks, which are then cut into individual magnets. The magnets are then magnetized a second time, which charges them to maximum capacity.
This double magnetizing process gives the magnet a stronger, more stable magnetic field, and makes the magnet Anisotropic.
Common Isotropic magnets are magnetized only once, at the end of the manufacturing process.
Because the powder was not magnetized before molding to orient the crystals, the magnets can't store as much energy and are weaker.

The Manufacturer's Gauss Rating is an industry standard measurement that tells us the maximum amount of magnetic energy that a particular type and grade of magnet can hold.
This measurement remains constant, regardless of the number of magnets a product contains.
In other words, if a magnetic therapy product contains 10 magnets, and each magnet is rated at 4,000 gauss, the Gauss Rating of the product is still 4,000 gauss. It does not increase.

You may have noticed the term Penetration Depth on some websites used as a way of relating product effectiveness. This is the distance from the magnet where the strength of the magnetic field is no longer measurable.
The above method is meaningless in magnetic therapy because the magnetic field loses all therapeutic effectiveness long before that point.
At Therion, we developed the term Effective Penetration Depth. This is the distance from the magnet where the strength of the magnetic field is no longer therapeutically effective, which is significantly less than the Penetration Depth.
Using a 3,950 gauss, 4" x 6" x ½" ceramic magnet as an example:
The Penetration Depth is 22".
The Effective Penetration Depth is only 16".
The magnetic field is ineffective past 16".
