About 5 years ago I had eyelid surgery that left my blinking muscles damaged. As a result both of my eyelids would open up when I was in a deep sleep. This meant that every single day my eyes were swollen and very painful. I looked like a monster. The doctors told me to tape my eyelids shut when I slept, but I dare anyone to try that and call it a solution. Nothing like ripping tape off of your eyelids every am...and they would still swell from the pressure of the tape.
I discovered another company's magnetic eye mask and it was a good (not perfect) solution. The weight of the magnets was enough to keep the lids closed through the night but sometimes too much which also caused swelling. It was kind of hit or miss every night.
