It wasn't a simple question to answer. We've tested neodymium magnet configurations in magnetic mattress pads in the past, and they really supercharged the effectiveness of the pad. So everyone said that's a good thing - What's the problem?

The problem was that we had several concerns about using neodymium magnets in a mattress pad.

• They're very hard to work with in manufacturing because they're so powerful and difficult to handle
• The calculations on where to place them to get the maximum benefit are extremely precise
• They have to be securely attached to the pad so they can't pull free and flip over to the wrong polarity
• Neodymium magnets are extremely expensive and dramatically increase the cost of the pad
